Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the Livo app (Android and iOS) and the livo.day website process, why, who it is shared with, and how you can control it. Livo contains no advertising and uses no analytics or behavioural tracking tools, neither in the app nor on the website.
1. Data controller
Luca Sassi, an individual based in Italy. Contact for any data request: livo@livo.day.
2. What data we process
- Calendar events. Livo reads and edits events in your device calendars, once you grant permission. Events stay on your device and are not sent to us, except those you choose to share (see below).
- Account. If you sign in with Google, we process your email address and an account identifier, managed by Firebase Authentication. Signing in is needed for shared events, weather and travel time.
- Shared events. When you share an event, its title, time, location, the list of attendees (with their emails), the checklist, comments, RSVP replies and an indicator showing who is viewing the event are stored on cloud servers. This data is visible to that event's attendees.
- Invitations. Invitations between Livo users are stored in an inbox tied to the recipient's email until they are accepted or declined.
- Push notifications. If you enable them, we store your device token, linked to your email, to be able to send you notifications.
- Approximate location. If you allow location access, we use an approximate (not precise) location to show weather and compute travel time to your events. Coordinates are sent to our cloud function, which forwards them to the providers listed below without your name or email. On our server we only keep per-user usage counters (to limit abuse) and, briefly, a cache of results.
- Camera. Used only to scan the QR code of a shared event. Images are neither saved nor sent.
- Reports. If you report a comment, we keep the emails of the reporter and the reported user, the comment text and the date, for moderation.
Livo does not collect data for advertising, profiling or sale to third parties.
3. Purposes and legal basis
- Providing the service (calendar, shared events, invitations, notifications, weather, travel time): performance of the contract with you.
- Security and abuse prevention (usage limits, comment moderation): legitimate interest.
- Calendar, location, notifications, camera: your consent, given through the operating system permissions, which you can withdraw at any time in your phone settings.
4. Who we share data with
- Google (Firebase): authentication, database, cloud functions, push notifications and hosting of this website.
- Mapbox: travel time calculation and address search. Receives the coordinates needed, not your identity.
- OpenWeatherMap: weather forecasts. Receives the coordinates needed, not your identity.
- Namecheap: registration of the livo.day domain and forwarding of livo@livo.day emails.
- Other attendees of the events you share.
We do not sell your data.
5. Transfers outside the European Union
Some providers may process data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. They do so on the basis of safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or the Data Privacy Framework.
6. How long we keep data
Data is kept as long as you have an account. You can delete it at any time from the Account section of the app settings. Deletion removes your cloud data: notification tokens, usage counters, received invitations, your comments, your presence and your replies in shared events. Shared events you own are deleted entirely from the cloud (they remain in the device calendars). Reports you submitted may be kept for moderation purposes.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to and receive your data in a portable format. Write to livo@livo.day and we will reply within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (garanteprivacy.it) or your local authority.
8. Children
Livo is not directed to children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their data.
9. This website (livo.day): cookies, fonts and browsing data
- Cookies. The website does not use cookies, whether technical or for profiling, and does not use any other tool that stores or reads information on your device (such as local storage or tracking pixels). That is why we show no cookie consent banner: there is nothing to accept. If we ever introduce any, we will ask for your consent first.
- Fonts and other content. Typefaces, images and styles are hosted on livo.day. We do not load fonts from Google Fonts or any resources from other external services, so your IP address is not sent to third parties just by opening a page. The website contains no scripts, analytics tools, social plugins, maps or embedded videos.
- Browsing data. The website is hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google). Like any web server, the provider automatically records some technical data about each request (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type, referring page) to deliver the service, keep it secure and detect abuse. We do not use it to identify or profile you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in the security and operation of the website. The provider keeps it according to its own schedules and rules. It may also be processed outside the European Union (see point 5).
- External links. The website links to third-party sites (for example OpenWeather, Mapbox and the Italian data protection authority). Nothing is sent until you open them; after you click, those sites' own policies apply.
- Email. If you write to livo@livo.day (including with the "Notify me" button), we use your address and the content of your message only to reply and, if you asked, to let you know when Livo is available. There is no form on the website: your own email program opens. Messages reach the owner's mailbox through the email forwarding service of Namecheap, the domain registrar. You can ask at any time for your address to be deleted.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, also notify you in the app.
